Houston Insider:
A shocker? I won’t rub it in that I ‘told you so’. Texans take NC Mario Williams instead of Reggie Bush. No, it wasn't a shocker to me. If everyone was listening very closely to what the Texans were saying, they could have figured it out. The Texans don’t have time for negotiation games and house drama. So they decided to build the team from another direction. I think the pick was a good choice for Houston. The controversy over who to pick “Bush” vs. “Young” had Houston divided, and no matter who the Texans would have chosen, Houston would have not been happy.
How about Vince going to the Titans when coordinator Norm Chow from USC wanted his homeboy Matt Leinart. Executive decision rules. Bud Adams’ beef with Houston is obviously still there, he got the man Houston fans wanted, and rightfully so. Well, when your home team doesn’t want you, you go with the next best thing. Can’t wait to be in the house for that match up; Vince and Lendale White, who made it clear he has a chip on his shoulder, is going to make some interesting football. Stay tuned... Steve McNair might be out... Vince, you don't have a problem.
Meanwhile, though Leinart was picked at #10, is in a good position at Arizona. Sometimes you can’t read into not going first or second.., you can end up in a good situation if you're not one of the first few picks. Just ask Reggie, do you really think he'll be happy with the Saints??? One thing's for sure, alot of Bush jerseys will be sold.
By GEORGE, it's true. George Mason great Jai Lewis was picked up be the Giants. Lewis, who hasn't played organized football since high school, helped his George Mason basketball team to the final four, one of the greatest sports stories in a long time. Though the rest of the guys are probably never going to play pro-ball, it will be good to see them get some endorsements..., but I guess the powers that be want more star power...shame!
Big boys DO cry. Vernon Davis proved that during the draft. It's touching to see a man's tears when his accomplishments are taken to the next level.... And you thought it was only the boys from the March Madness games - who cried tears of defeat! Ladies, don’t believe a dude when he tries to come across strong… break him down!
